February 2021 Newsletter
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back. We hope you had a lovely break, and a warm welcome to all those joining us again this term.
During the half term break we held our first virtual family quiz which was enjoyed by families past & present. It raised a fantastic £165, so a big thank you to everyone who supported this event & our quiz master Alicia.
Our topic for this term is “Space & Travel”. We will be finding out how we all get to Playgroup, do we walk, cycle, maybe use our scooters or our parents shoulder or do we live too far away and have to come in the car?. Holidays will also be on the agenda have we been on one are we going on one (after lock down of course), how did we get there? Was it a long or short journey? Did we need a map. We shall also be making our own maps, whilst using our maths skills to chart & record everything we find out. We will be looking at all the different ways we travel. Which will also include rockets! Where do they go to? Could it be Mars alongside the Rover!
This term we will also be very busy celebrating Chinese New Year, Mother's Day & Easter, doing lots of fun Chinese New Year & Easter activities, whilst learning all about giving and sharing and thanking those who love and care for us.
This is the Spring term! So lots of planting, digging and hunting for mini beasts (on top & under ground,) will be taking place, so please send your child/children to Playgroup in clothes that are warm and you don't mind getting dirty.
The photographer would normally be paying us a visit this term to take our photos, unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions this will not now take place. I am trying to rearrange it for the end of the Summer term providing we are allowed to, within the Covid guidelines. At this time of year we would also be looking forward to the Easter Fayre, again this has had to be cancelled, however as fund raising is more vital than ever we will still be having an Easter Raffle (details to follow later in the term).
I would like to remind Parents/carers that from Monday 8th March you will have to return to taking the long route through the school grounds when dropping off in the morning.
We are hoping to be able to hold a face to face consultation evening outside during the last week of this term. I will send out details of how this is going to run closer to the time.
Julie
