Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back, we hope you all had a lovely summer. We would like to welcome back all the children and parents returning to playgroup and welcome all the new children and parents joining playgroup.
This term our topic is “All About Me”. We shall be learning all about ourselves, how tall are we? What size are our hands & feet? What makes us different? What likes & dislikes we have & maybe why. What foods we enjoy or not. We will also be looking at our families. Who's in our family? Are they younger/older? We would like the children to bring in photos of themselves with their families including pets, grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins etc.
Our “WOW” board for all those awards, photos and certificates to be displayed is still in the hall. This board is for you to share any achievements made outside of Playgroup, favourite pets or people, birthday treats or trips, not just of our children, but anyone in the family. If you have a certificate or a picture you would like to share, we would love to put it on display. The Parent Rota is another way of joining in and working together.
As of the start of this term September 2018, we are as a group going to be concentrating on promoting healthy bodies & brains. For children who are returning after the summer holidays I have attached a Packing A Healthy Lunch Box leaflet. New children will have one in their starters paper work. Children will no longer be able to have a full packet of crisps as part of their lunch, half is ok. We will also be providing all the drinks, full fat milk & water, so no drinks in the lunch boxes please. If you have any questions please come in & see Julie. Attached is a leaflet on help your child's growing brain “Five Top Tips for Under 5's”. We hope you find both of these helpful.
A huge thank you for all the support given to the Greendown Big Toddle it raised £625 & the Sports Day raffle made £73.

I would like to remind Parents/carers of the following.
Greendown Playgroups Safeguarding Procedure is that we will take full responsibility for your child once they have been handed over at said door. AM – yellow door, PM – blue door.
Greendown Playgroup cannot be held responsible for your children's safety if you DO NOT adhere to this.
